How To Switch From Shopify To WooCommerce And Integrate Cash App Afterpay

1. Disconnecting Cash App Afterpay from Shopify

Before setting up Cash App Afterpay on WooCommerce, you should remove it from your Shopify store.

Action:

  1. Log in to your Shopify Admin Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Payments.
  3. Under the Alternative Payment Methods section, locate Cash App Afterpay.
  4. Click Deactivate Cash App Afterpay and confirm the removal.

After completing these steps, Cash App Afterpay will no longer be available on your Shopify store.

2. Setting Up Cash App Afterpay on WooCommerce

Now that you’ve removed Cash App Afterpay from Shopify, you’ll need to install and configure it for WooCommerce.

Action:

  1. Log in to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Plugins > Add New and search for Cash App Afterpay Gateway for WooCommerce.
  3. Click Install Now and then Activate the plugin.
  4. Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Payments and enable Cash App Afterpay.
  5. Enter your Cash App Afterpay API credentials (Merchant ID and Secret Key).
  6. Configure on-site messaging to display Cash App Afterpay’s payment option on product and checkout pages.
  7. Save your settings and complete a test transaction to ensure Cash App Afterpay is properly integrated.

3. Additional Considerations

  • If you’re migrating existing orders from Shopify to WooCommerce, note that Cash App Afterpay transactions cannot be transferred between platforms. Any active Cash App Afterpay orders on Shopify will still be managed through your Cash App Afterpay merchant portal.
  • Ensure that your WooCommerce theme supports Cash App Afterpay messaging, or manually add the Cash App Afterpay logo to your product and checkout pages.
  • Verify that your new store’s currency settings match Cash App Afterpay’s supported currencies.

 

Important Notes:

  • Cash App Afterpay does not allow duplicate integrations for the same business. Make sure you’ve disconnected it from Shopify before setting it up on WooCommerce.
  • Some WooCommerce themes may require additional customization to display Cash App Afterpay correctly.
