Afterpay has created a number of ways to help you distinguish Afterpay Card transactions in your internal sales systems:
-
Segment Afterpay from Visa data: Afterpay Card has a unique, static BIN (427140) you can use as a flag to identify Afterpay transactions against other Visa transactions. Since the card is a digital card, most of the card numbers surfaced will be tokenized, but if you can surface the first 6 digits of the customer card used, you'll be able to see Afterpay transactions.
- Match Afterpay transactions using daily transaction files: Afterpay surfaces a number of key match criteria to support your settlements & reconciliations process. Many Retailers can uniquely match purchases & transactions using indicators such as Auth code, System Trace Audit Number (STAN) or Retrieval Reference Number (RRN). Before we go into a finance deep dive, we highly recommend running a quick test purchase and refund (Afterpay can run these tests as soon as today) to match actual data back to the information you get from your payment processor.
