Cash App Afterpay App Configuration Errors
- Cause: If there’s an issue with your Cash App Afterpay merchant account, it could be the reason as to why Cash App Afterpay as a payment method is not appearing in checkout. For example, your Cash App Afterpay account might not be fully activated, or there may be an issue with your Cash App Afterpay credentials.

Solution: Ensure that your Cash App Afterpay merchant account is active and that you have the correct Cash App Afterpay credentials (Merchant ID and Secret Key) to connect with Shopify.
- Within your Shopify Admin Panel, go to Settings > Payments > Afterpay US (New) (If you do not see Afterpay US (New), then select + Add payment method).
- Click the More Actions button and then select Manage button (if you selected ‘Add payment method’ previously, click Search by provider, search for and select ‘Afterpay US (New)’ and then press Install).
- These steps will lead you to the Cash App Afterpay login screen, which will allow you to update/activate the Cash App Afterpay payment method with your Merchant ID and Secret Key.

Inconsistent Currency Display
- Cause: A common cause for Cash App Afterpay as a payment method not appearing at checkout is because your Shopify store's base currency may differ from the corresponding Cash App Afterpay account region, which can only be set as US.
- Solution: Your Shopify store’s address and currency must correspond to the Cash App Afterpay account region. Please refer to the Store Address and Store Currency steps to ensure they are configured correctly.

Cash App Afterpay is available for Shopify merchants with a store address in the USA only. The same restriction applies to Cash App Pay.
